The estimate comes from a fan community known as GTA6 Mapping, which pieced together clues from Rockstar’s official teasers and trailers. Their digital detective work suggests a world roughly 2.7 times larger than GTA 5’s map, including a modernized Vice City (hello again, neon skyline), three major cities, four smaller towns, and a central landmark called Lake Leonida. Basically, imagine a Florida road trip—minus the humidity and toll booths.

Speculation runs the streets

Not everyone’s packing their virtual bags just yet. Some fans on Reddit argue the supposed map leak is more wishful thinking than a confirmed fact. The coordinates and city distances might line up, but even die-hard sleuths admit parts of the countryside and map borders are still guesswork.

Others defend the project, saying fan-made maps have often come surprisingly close to Rockstar’s final designs. Rockstar, for its part, has kept quiet since dropping major details back in May, though Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick insists the May 26, 2026, release date is locked in.
